Aletheia Therapy's approach to therapy
Our approach

Relational Psychodynamic

At Aletheia Therapy, we believe that relationships are central to both life and the therapy process. Grounded in relational psychodynamic work, we understand that early relationships shape who we are, often influencing our current behaviors, emotions, and relational patterns. In therapy, the relationship between client and therapist serves as a powerful space for exploring these dynamics. By engaging in mutual vulnerability and transparency, we can uncover unconscious patterns and foster secure, healing attachments. Our goal is to help you gain deeper self-awareness and experience what healthy, transformative relationships look like—both in and outside the therapy room.

Why us?

Choosing a therapist who cares

At Aletheia Therapy, you won’t encounter a distant therapist merely reflecting your words back at you. Instead, you’ll be matched with a therapist who aligns with your unique needs and goals—someone who specializes in the areas you want to address and brings their own authentic personality into the room. Our approach fosters a genuine connection, ensuring that you feel seen, heard, and supported on your journey to healing.

Frequently asked questions
01
What types of therapy do you offer?

At Aletheia Therapy, we primarily utilize relational psychodynamic therapy, which explores early childhood development and unconscious processes to understand how they influence your current experiences. While this is our foundational approach, our therapists are also trained in various modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Person-Centered Therapy, allowing us to tailor our methods to best meet your unique needs."

02
How do I know if Aletheia is right for me?

At Aletheia Therapy, we recognize that therapy isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution, and we may not be the right fit for everyone. Our approach emphasizes long-term therapy, typically involving 15 to 25 sessions. We believe in addressing the complexities of human experience rather than providing quick fixes. Research shows that long-term therapy is more effective in preventing regression to old habits compared to shorter approaches. Instead of finding yourself returning to us in 1, 3, or even 5 years due to a relapse, we encourage you to invest in meaningful, deeper work during those initial sessions for lasting transformation.

03
Who are your typical clients?

Our typical clients include individuals, couples, and families facing personality disorders and attachment disturbances, such as narcissistic, antisocial, and borderline personality disorders. We also work with the AAPI community, those dealing with trauma, abuse, anxiety, depression, LGBTQIA individuals, neurodivergent clients, perinatal clients, and children.

04
