I have two truths and a lie for ya; what's the lie?
1 - I love being outdoors
2 - Cooking for others is one way I show love
3 - I've always wanted to be a therapist
#3 is the lie! I initially wanted to be a nurse growing up, but realized (after taking anatomy ||) that I didn't want to learn about the human body necessarily, but more about how to help people feel their feelings, connect with others better, and live authentically. Psychology opened up that door for me and being a therapist was the last puzzle piece that fit right in :)
Therapy with me is a safe space where you can embrace the parts of yourself you love and those you may not yet. It's a journey to meet your authentic self, which can be uncomfortable at times, but know that I'll be in your corner for unconditional support. I'm honored to work with clients who take a chance with me, and I'm here for you too when you're ready.
I empower my clients to take ownership of their growth process, which is why I mainly use a person-centered approach. Our time will mostly have the natural spontaneity of a conversation while being practical to find the tangible tools you need to cope day-to-day. I also love creative expression, so we can tap into that world in our sessions as well!
I work well with folks (15+) of all identities who express concerns related to traumatic experiences, relationship wounds, anxiety, and self-esteem. I specialize in helping people overcome feelings of shame and guilt, with a subspecialty in understanding how these emotions are deeply rooted in relational trauma, particularly within the unique experiences of the AAPI community.
